Edmonton, Alberta and Fort McMurray, Alberta (June
27, 2016)—The Stream-Flo Group of Companies (Stream-Flo Industries Ltd. and
Master Flo Valve Inc.) is proud to announce that its employees have donated a
total of $18,827.00 to support the Fort McMurray recovery effort. Together with
matching funds from the McNeill family, which owns the Stream-Flo Group of
Companies, the total amount raised is $37,854.00.
Employees in Canada donated to the Wood Buffalo Food Bank in Fort McMurray, while employees in the United States donated to the American Red Cross Fort McMurray Canada Disaster Relief fund. With a Stream-Flo location and employees in Fort McMurray, the food bank was chosen to receive the Canadian employee donations because it delivers services directly to those in need. The Stream-Flo Group of Companies previously donated money to the Wood Buffalo Food Bank, as well as to 11 other Canadian and six U.S. food banks in the communities in which it operates, in December 2015. Those donations were made in place of giving away door prizes at its employee Christmas parties.
“The people at the Stream-Flo Group of Companies are second to none. It’s amazing to see them step up and support their neighbours and fellow Albertans like this. Even our employees in the U.S. wanted to help,” says Doug McNeill, Chief Strategic Officer at Stream-Flo. “Giving back to the communities in which we live and operate is one of our Guiding Principles, and this is just one example of how our employees live those principles at work and in their personal lives.”
In addition to food banks, the Stream-Flo Group of Companies and its employees support a wide range of local organizations in the communities in which it operates. In 2015, the company donated $56,394.00 to the PTSD Foundation of America’s Camp Hope in Houston. The company donated $3 for every dollar raised by employees to purchase a total of $258,730.00 worth of medical equipment for Edmonton’s Stollery Children’s Hospital in 2014. Stream-Flo also organizes an annual golf tournament in Midland, Texas in support of the UMC Timothy J. Harnar Burn Center. Since Stream-Flo took over the tournament in 2013, it has raised $60,000 for the burn center.
