Featured Organization: Stollery Children's Hospital
In October 2014, Stream-Flo and Master Flo employees decided to raise money to purchase medical equipment for Edmonton's Stollery Children's Hospital. Throughout the month, employees came together to plan fundraisers from bake sales and penny drives to a dunk tank and a “Scream-Flo” Rutherford Manor Haunt with admission by donation. At the end of the month, $64,682.50 had been raised.
To recognize the grassroots efforts, the company donated $3 for every dollar raised by employees. At a noon-hour event in the Stream-Flo manufacturing plant, a cheque for $258,730 was presented to Mike House, President and CEO of the Stollery Children's Hospital Foundation, for the purchase of much needed medical equipment.
