Local food banks in the communities in which we operate are one of the areas in which the Stream-Flo Group of Companies focuses our ongoing community support. Since 2015, we've made donations to food banks in the communities in which we operate in lieu of giving away door prizes at employee Christmas parties. In the wake of the industry downturn, food bank use has increased dramatically in oil and gas communities and we want to support the people of the towns and cities that have supported us so well.

In June 2016, our employees donated $18,302.00 to the Wood Buffalo Food Bank in Fort McMurray, Alberta, to support the city's recovery from  wildfires that destroyed parts of it and surrounding communities. This was matched by the McNeill family, which owns the Stream-Flo Group of Companies, making the total donation to the food bank $36,304.00. The family also matched funds donated by U.S. employees to the American Red Cross Fort McMurray Relief Fund. Read the press release here.

In December 2017, we gave $20,000 CDN / $15,000 U.S. to 12 Canadian and 6 U.S. food banks in:

  • Beeville, Texas
  • Brooks, Alberta
  • Calgary, Alberta
  • Cheyenne, Wyoming
  • Edmonton, Alberta
  • Edson, Alberta
  • Estevan, Saskatchewan
  • Fort McMurray, Alberta
  • Fort St. John, British Columbia
  • Houston, Texas
  • Grande Prairie, Alberta
  • Indiana, Pennsylvania
  • Kindersley, Saskatchewan
  • Odessa, Texas
  • Rainbow Lake, Alberta
  • Red Deer, Alberta
  • Slave Lake, Alberta
  • Tyler, Texas

An example of our ongoing support is our involvement with the food bank at Houston's Northwest Assistance Ministries. In addition to the donations above, Stream-Flo and Master Flo employees volunteer at the food bank as a group at Thanksgiving and Christmas. In 2017, we also purchased livestock raised by the Klein, Texas Chapter of the Future Farmers of America, and donated the meat to Northwest Assistance Ministries.
