Featured Organization: Camp Hope
The PTSD Foundation of America's Camp Hope provides interim housing and support to veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and their families. Camp Hope also happens to be across the road from our Houston Training Center, and next to another Stream-Flo property.
In October of 2015, Stream-Flo Group of Companies employees from our Houston Stream-Flo and Master Flo offices joined together to participate in the 4th Annual BBQ Cook Off benefiting Camp Hope. The event raised over $150,000.00, and the Stream-Flo/Master Flo team finished third in two categories. In addition, we contributed $56,394.00 towards the installation of water and sewer lines to Camp Hope, and provided an easement so it could save money by running the lines across our property.
In February of 2016, we again helped Camp Hope help its clients by providing it with enough turkey, chicken, pork, goat and lamb to fill half its cold locker. The meat came from a Future Farmers of America (FFA) livestock show and auction, in which the daughter of a Houston employee was competing. When her mother, a FFA volunteer, learned that the number of bidders was down from the previous year she suggested that Stream-Flo bid on the animals that the youths had raised and donate the meat to Camp Hope.
