Lead Auditor - Global Sourcing - Edmonton, AB

Reporting to the Global Sourcing Manager, the Lead Auditor will be responsible for Supplier Audits and Supplier Qualifications.  

Key position functions: 

  • Apply consistent use of global policies, practices, and tools across the various business units related to supply chain audits on a corporate basis 
  • Coordinate and execute Supply Chain Audit activities related to supplier qualification, verification, and surveillance in conjunction with QA from each business unit 
  • Ensure Supply Chain Audit requirements are applied consistently to meet applicable industry standards as well as requirements defined by business unit QA and/or Product Engineering 
  • Engage and manage independent Third-Party Audit Services where practical while ensuring Supply 
  • Chain Audit compliance to effectively coordinate global and geographical business unit challenges 
  • Maximize utilization across the corporate group of qualified internal resources for execution of Supply Chain Audit activities cost effectively 
  • Maintain Supply Chain Audit schedule, frequency, and surveillance to meet industry standards and business unit requirements 
  • Gather and report information on critical suppliers to management to maximize effective supplier performance for the corporate group  
  • Assist with key personnel in each business unit to establish and maintain harmonized AVL practices corporately for manufactured items and private label equipment   
  • Facilitate collaborative Supply Chain Audit practices to encourage pooling of information and expertise across various business units     
  • Assist management with long-term risk assessment and critical supplier evaluations across the product business units 
  • Oversee AVL maintenance in conjunction with Sourcing Specialist 

 Qualifications: 

  • Related post-secondary degree or certificate in a technical discipline  
  • Five plus years related experience in oil and gas manufacturing industry  
  • Quality Assurance training and previous Audit experience is essential 
  • Strong Working knowledge of software systems including solid experience with an integrated ERP system, 
  • Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint and Workflow management 
  • Working knowledge of steel processes and raw materials related to the foundry, forge master, and heat treatment industries would be considered a strong asset    
  • Excellent communication, organization and team skills 
  • Must be willing and able to travel up to 20% including domestic and international travel
