Sourcing Specialist - Edmonton, AB

The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for sourcing and procurement analysis in support of the Stream-Flo Group of Companies. This involves coordinating harmonized Approved Vendors List (AVL) practices across all product business units and applying consistent use of global policies, practices, and tools corporately. 

 Key Position Functions: 

  • Provide analytical support to management through reporting as required  
  • Maintain the AVL in close communication with key Sourcing, QA and Purchasing personnel in each operational business unit  
  • Monitor and maintain the AVL with sub-contract level for critical suppliers and special processes as defined by Sourcing, QA and/or Engineering 
  • Coordinate supplier audit documentation, training, certifications and qualifications as required to support AVL maintenance 
  • Assist the Lead Auditor with supplier audit activities, scheduling, reporting, and third-party services 
  • Identify reporting requirements in conjunction with management and work with IT to develop collaborative solutions 
  • Participate with the alignment of best practices to ensure we leverage opportunities with a corporate advantage 
  • Document processes and procedures related to the AVL including work instructions and assist in maintenance of these procedures as required 
  • Support in the form of system training to members of the organization as required (ERP, AVL, SharePoint) 
  • Communicate with QA and supply chain on trial requirements as required by individual business units
  • Assist with customs compliance, tariff reviews, and internal audits to ensure consistent practices are applied to all products 
  • Develop as a key resource for ERP system implementations, upgrades, SharePoint and continuous improvement 


  • Five years progressive experience in a purchasing or supply chain environment or relevant post-secondary education 
  • Strong Working knowledge of software systems including ERP, Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint and Workflow management 
  • Fundamental understanding of Quality Management System (QMS) principles related to AVL maintenance is essential to the role  
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, issue resolution and results oriented mindset 
  • Excellent communication, organization and team skills 
  • Previous experience in supporting a manufacturing or industrial environment would be considered an asset 
  • Basic understanding of oilfield valves, wellhead equipment, and choke products is beneficial to the role
